Weekend Wrapup

Let's see. Friday night I let Kyla sleep in the bed with Suzy, so I slept downstairs. I watched Gothica in my new widescreen glory. Then, whatever else was on. I think it was some Real Sex Extra or something. Then sleep.

I slept in Saturday morning. Suzy had to work, so she left early. Kyla is good about letting me sleep in. She usually just gets herself on the computer and plays games. After I got up, I made us some breakfast and cleaned up a bit. The rest of the day was basically Kyla and I playing either Rat A Tat Cat, Monopoly or wresting around. And of course, some cleaning. I feel like I'm always cleaning, picking up, need to clean or need to pick up. Even right now.

After Suzy got home I went grocery shopping. Saturday night isn't bad for grocery shopping. After stocking up on food, I stopped by the package store and picked up some wine for myself. Grocery stores up here don't sell wine, which I don't understand. An aisle of beer is there, but no wine. I think I once read something about it, or something about people trying to get it so wine could be sold in the grocery store. I didn't pay so much attention to whatever I read I guess :-)

Came home, unloaded the groceries, poured myself a glass of wine (Shiraz), and ate. I had recorded Rudolf, so we watched that and Frosty the Snowman. Anyone ever notice that when Frosty tries counting to 10, he has 10 fingers? Then, he has only 8 after that?

Kyla went to bed, and Suzy and I watched Kill Bill vol1. Good stuff. Volume 2 is #3 in my queue (after some My Little Pony disk and A Christmas Story... a seasonal classic).

Yesterday, we put up the Christmas lights. It was pretty chilly in the morning when we put them up, then actually warned up to 48 and sunny. Suzy cleaned, I cut up boxes that were in the garage, my dad come over and Kyla played. Nothing out of the ordinary. Then dinner, and I baked cookies with Kyla. We all hopped in the truck and went driving around looking at Christmas lights on peoples houses. There were some which were nice, some were lame, and some had none. There was one house which had about 15 of those large inflatable things, and about every lawn ornament you can think of. It was so tacky and cheesy it was great. It was the kind of thing your neighbors hate you for.

A decent weekend.
