On Sunday we did it... we got ourselves a new TV. We planned on it, since it's our holiday gift for eachother. Plus, there are sales and it's silly to keep waiting and me researching every TV known to man.

We ended up with a Hitachi 'Ultravision' 50" LCD. The thing is great. I picked up a HD-DVR box from Time Warner, and am in HD heaven. Right now, watching The Saint (great movie, haven't seen in a while) on HBO-HD. So far (2.5 days) I am very happy with it.

We also needed to get a new TV unit. The one we had only fit the 27" CRT we had before. We got two side towers (which has an upper, optional, bridge between them), in an oak color. They have both open shelves, glass doors and solid doors. Very nice. The base until hasn't come yet. I have to pick it up tomorrow. It will all look very nice. I'll snap a photo when it's all done.
