Friday: Hung out with Kyla and played "Monster Tennis" in the back, and fed the ducks. Met my dad at the (well, "a") park near his house and played some real tennis with him, and Kyla. Then I came home for some relaxing before Suzy came home and we went to the dinner & movie place.
Saturday: Was woken up a few times by a bunch of geese. We slept with the windows open since the weather has been really nice. I made some breakfast, then went to a local gardening place and picked up a bale of hay. Then went to Home Depot to get some stones and flowers. We were going to use the stones to build a low wall around the flowers, and the two cherry trees I planted a few weeks ago. Picked Kyla up from my dads, came home and put one of the walls together, and planted the flowers. I then put some more grass seed down, and put hay over it to help it grow. Between the wind and runoff, the hay should help some of the seeds take a little better than before. Worth a try, anyway. Then watered the lawn, had some dinner and we relaxed the rest of the night.
Sunday: Woke up and I made some French Toast. Suzy went out to do some errands, so Kyla and I played some Monster Tennis again. We walked to the back fence to see if the ducks were around. The ducks actually spotted us before we spotted them! They came to our side of the pond, and even came out.. and stared at us. Quack quack. So I went inside to get some food for them. They waited, and we went over and fed them. I expect that by the end of summer they will just be knocking on the back sliders for food! Then Kyla and I started putting together one of the walls around one of the trees. Suzy came home, and we all did the other, then put some cedar mulch around the trees. Suzy picked up a bird feeder and hummingbird feeder, so we put those up in the back yard as well. I'm not sure if there are hummingbirds around, but worth a shot. Everywhere has a selection of feeders for them, so they must be around here somewhere. I again watered the lawn, went out back with Kyla, then more Monster Tennis. Cleaning, dinner, laying around with Kyla, and now will do some reading (still working my way through 'Musashi') and relaxing before The Sopranos and Deadwood.
Gotta love these great weekends!
